Hi guys and happy new year!♥ I had a wonderful ending to my 2017 doing things I love with the people that I love, and welcomed the new year in while watching a firework show. I don't make new year's resolutions, because I personally think that trying to change your life over night once a year is too ambitious and hardly ever really works on long term. I've for example been a gym member around the time the year changed and seen first hand how in January the place is packed with motivated people but how in February I was again one of the few people that kept showing up. I think it is much more effective to set yourself smaller goals during the year and follow through with them, monthly goals for example have been a really effective way for me to follow my own progress. The most effective way to get results though is starting right now and not tomorrow or next month or next year. If you have a wish to visit family more often or get yourself back to the gym, find a free day on your calendar and buy your train ticket now or pack your bag and hit the closest gym tonight. This way by the end of the day you feel much more relaxed when your to-do list is half what it was in the morning! This month I'm hoping to connect with old friends, decorate my house they way I originally planned to and get my work-life balanced. This far I've seen four old friends, called two, hung up pictures on my wall and started a KonMari-styled cleaning operation, so by the end of the month I'll most likely be ready to set some new goals.
I would love to hear what your guys think of New Years resolutions? Do you make them and do they work for you? Or is there perhaps someone out there who also believes in setting smaller goals throughout the year?
